Halloween is always a social struggle. Hit as many parties as you can until you drop, or commit to one and go for it. That’s what Matt and I did this year. Our friends Staci and Dr. Quang Henderson were hosting a pre-party at their River Oaks manor and Staci was co-hosting Dirty Dirty Dirty 2. All Staci told me about the event was, “This is not our typical party.” For us, that’s saying something. Let’s just say I’ve become Ethel to her Lucy. When she calls, I just ask, “What time?” Life has been so much crazier and I’ve found myself with some wacky stories that I still laugh about.
Ten years since the original Dirty Dirty Dirty hosted by Shannon Hall and Marcus Sloan, the sequel did not disappoint. Co-hosted again by Sloan and Hall, with an assist from Staci and Anika Jackson, the invitation told guests to “come bare as you dare or in whatever makes you feel sexy” and guests took that guidance to all across the spectrum. Outfits ranged from barely there to fancy and flawless. These guests took it seriously!
Life HTX, the venue, co-owned by dear friends Monsour Taghdisi and Henry Richardson, provided the perfect backdrop for the frivolity, which included an obligatory screen for those more interested in being spectators of the baseball game than those scantily clad waiters or sexy images catering to both men and women.
Among those notables in attendance were the gorgeous Vivian Wise, the ever fashionable Carrie and Sverre Brandsberg-Dahl, Nicholas Nguyen wearing one of his amazing designs, Angela and John Bo Nichols (sporting Astros attire), Jonathan Blake in a classy velvet blazer, Fritz McDonald, Cabe Nowlen and Randall Valentino Gonzales looking sexy and scary at the same time, Kat Kearns, and Jeff Shell.
We hope your Halloween was a fun as ours. Life is about memories and time spent with good people. We were spoiled by an abundance of both.
